Goal # 1 - Search for a home

Our property search in the panhandle area started in 2013 during our first visit to the area. Karen really liked the area and especially the pristine, white sand beaches.

When hurricane Michael hit locally as a category 5 storm in 2018 the landscape changed dramatically and as a result opened the door for us to aggressively begin to hunt for sustainable housing limited only by our affordability and the amount of repairs needed before we could occupy a property.

After two years of being rejected on offers because REITs were scooping up residential properties as investments and paying cash for everything, anyone unable to ante up the dough simply lost out.
We finally won the bid on this property in Calloway. Fl. close to Tyndall Air Force base.

This property required quite a bit of TLC before an insurance company would even consider covering it. We were up to the challenge and were able to get it done and gain occupancy on January 5, 2022. Karen’s dream to live near a beach finally became a reality.

Questions are the gateway to intellect; curiosity and being open to asking things gives a deeper understanding

Health is foundational to success in all areas of life. When health is working it can be a sign that all other areas of life are working and can create more energy and conditions for creativity

Character is a muscle that must be exercised to be consistent in all existence and reality

Character is a commitment and can never be less than 100 percent, otherwise, it is merely an interest. Any missing piece in this premise means that someone else’s persuasiveness may lead one astray without defined Character and Values

Values are the guiding beacon for character. Choose principle over people. Character must be consistent, especially in dealing with other people.

Be a steward over the things you have, therefore, do not have so much that it ties you down. It is not necessary to own everything to experience it.

No one individual is an expert in everything when it comes to finance.

No one cares more about your money than you, so be a steward over your money.

Start Your Statement of Purpose Now
We all pick up bits of wisdom and insight over the years. It’s not necessary to wait until you form a family trust to begin formulating a sound financial plan. Start with a Statement of Purpose and write down thoughts as they come to you. It doesn’t have to be perfect.
If your descendants expect perfection from you, they expect too much (you can even state that in your Statement of Purpose).
But it is very valuable to pass along information to the next generation so that, just like with money, they’re not starting life at zero. This was my thinking in the development of my statement of purpose for my plan.

A family trust isn’t just about leaving behind money. A family trust is also about leaving behind values, traditions and knowledge that will carry on for generations. What you leave behind in your Statement of Purpose is bound to be read by generations to come, regardless of how much wealth you leave behind.
